Parliament Day 10 Ends With A 'Dictatorship' Remark — And A Bill Passed Without Debate

Monsoon Session: Both Houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were adjourned till Monday, August 3, on Day 10 of the Monsoon Session, as Opposition protests over the alleged police excesses against the students during the July 20 march continued to disrupt proceedings. While the Lok Sabha managed to pass the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026 without debate amid sloganeering, the Rajya Sabha saw Chairman CP Radhakrishnan accuse the Opposition of “dictatorship” before adjourning the House amid continued pandemonium. Two privilege motions have also been moved, one from the ruling side and the other from the Opposition.
