The controversy stems from an earlier episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, where Shilpa Shinde allegedly made comments about Shivangi Joshi’s dating life while speaking with fellow contestants Shreya Kalra and Madhuri Jain Grover. During the conversation, Shreya suggested that she would mimic Harshad Chopda while Shilpa should imitate Shivangi. Acting out the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress, Shilpa said, “Main to bahut masoom hoon. Mujhe to kuch bhi nahi pata, main virgin hoon. Main to shaadi ke baad bhi nahi karungi.”
