On the flood crisis, Sherman Ali Ahmed said three districts were facing severe conditions and called for a significantly larger relief package. He argued that the Rs 15,000 assistance announced for each family and Rs 95,000 housing support were inadequate considering the scale of destruction. He urged the Assam government to announce a larger relief package, particularly for flood affected areas of Upper Assam, saying thousands of families have suffered extensive damage and need greater support to rebuild their lives.
