The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has announced another round of stakeholder consultations, with fresh meetings scheduled in New Delhi on August 7 and August 10. The discussions form part of the Commission’s ongoing exercise to gather inputs from employee representatives before framing recommendations on pay, pensions, allowances and other service-related matters for central government employees and pensioners.
The latest schedule was notified through an official communication issued on July 23. The upcoming interactions will be limited to recognised associations, federations and unions representing Central Government and Union Territory (UT) employees that are based in or registered in Delhi.
The announcement comes roughly two weeks after the Commission concluded its stakeholder consultations in Kolkata on July 9 and 10. In the intervening period, several employee and pensioner organisations had expressed concerns over the pace of the Commission’s work and the timeline for submitting its final recommendations.
Who Is Eligible To Attend The Delhi Consultations?
The Commission has specified that only organisations that have already submitted their memorandum and have not yet met the Commission either in Delhi or in any State or Union Territory will be eligible to request an appointment.
Interested organisations must submit their requests by July 31, 2026, along with their unique memorandum identification number. Information regarding the venue and meeting schedule will be shared separately with eligible participants.
During these consultations, employee associations are expected to place their views on several key issues, including salary revision, pension benefits, allowances, fitment factor, promotions, career progression and broader service conditions.
More Stakeholder Meetings Planned Across India
The Commission has indicated that the August consultations are part of a wider engagement process and will not be the final round of discussions. Additional meetings are planned in Delhi as well as different States and Union Territories over the coming months before the Commission prepares and submits its recommendations to the Central government.
Employee bodies located outside the Delhi-NCR region will have the opportunity to seek appointments in their respective State or Union Territory, or at another nearby location. The Commission said future consultation schedules will be published on its official website.
Employee Data Submission Deadline Extended Till July 31
In a separate development, the 8th Pay Commission has extended the deadline for ministries, government departments and Union Territories to upload employee-related information through its online data collection portal until July 31, 2026.
The extension follows requests from multiple government departments seeking additional time to complete the exercise.
The Commission has also reiterated that only data uploaded through its designated online portal will be considered during the review process. Information submitted through physical documents or email will not be accepted.
