Meta Is Turning Facebook Into TikTok With New Video-First Feed Test

This move by Facebook could be dubbed something that was pending for a very long time now because the platform has lost the spark it once had, as a majority is not even bothered about updating their profiles, posting something, or messaging someone on Facebook. Moreover, this step is also being taken because a lot of people who use platforms like Facebook and Instagram are passive consumers, and only friends and family cannot keep them entertained or cater to their habit of doomscrolling. Instagram head Adam Mosseri said, ‘We show recommendations because you might follow 200 accounts, and one in 10 of them posted. So we’ve got 20 things [to show you]. And we can reorder those 20 things 20 factorial ways, but that’s only so much upside. Whereas if we look at the billion things posted in a given day, and we find something you’re interested in, there’s more upside.’
