The Delhi Police on Tuesday clarified that the extension of their preventive detention power under the NSA by the Lieutenant Governor is a “routine extension” or “renewal of powers” under the National Security Act, which is issued every three months. Earlier today, the Delhi LG had extended the Police’s power of preventive detention under the stringent NSA till October 18, an official notification said.
