Jain takes over from Nidhi Chhibber, who had been holding additional charge as CEO after the completion of former CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam’s tenure in February 2026. Subrahmanyam, a former IAS officer and ex-Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, had led NITI Aayog since 2023 before completing his extended term.
