But that was the technicality of it all. The most fascinating part, however, is that Here’s despite losing some visual grandeur, the emotional experience of The Odyssey survives almost entirely intact. At its core, Nolan’s film is not just about ancient wars or mythical creatures, it is about longing, survival, identity, collective memory and the impossibility of return sans change. Thematically, this does not require a towering aspect ratio.
