Kota Police have arrested eight members, including three women, of the so-called ‘Looteri Dulhan’ gang, a runaway bride syndicate that allegedly ran a meticulously organised fake marriage racket across Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, targeting lonely, older men desperate for companionship and stripping them of lakhs of rupees in the process. The crackdown, as per a report by PTI, was carried out under Operation Criminal Dusting and headed by Kota (rural) Superintendent of Police Sujit Shankar and came after two defrauded grooms approached police at Ramganj Mandi police station on July 13 and 16, respectively.
