Kejriwal Launches Nationwide Petition Against E20 Petrol, Seeks Meeting With PM Modi

In a letter dated July 13, 2026, Kejriwal told the Prime Minister that there is a “huge public outcry” over the imposition of E20 petrol on vehicles that are not E20-compliant, alleging that ministers have responded to protestors by branding them “anti-nationals,” “unemployed social activists” and “lobbyists” instead of addressing genuine distress. He argued there is “no logical, scientific, engineering or economic argument” that justifies the government’s decision, and suggested vested interests may be influencing the policy rather than public welfare.
