S. Janaki’s granddaughters, Varsha and Apsara Vydyula, were born to her son Murali Krishna and his former wife, Uma. Following the legendary singer’s demise, Apsara shared the news on social media. Varsha, however, passed away in 2023. The cause of her death has not been made public. Remembering both her sister and grandmother, Apsara penned an emotional note on Instagram, revealing the bond they shared. She wrote that her grandmother’s favourite person in the world was her elder sister, Varsha, adding that the two were remarkably alike and understood each other in a way that words could never fully explain. She also said their family would never truly recover from Varsha’s loss, describing grief as something one learns to carry for the rest of life.
