Michigan has recorded 2,640 cases since late June, including about 44 hospitalizations, a figure roughly 50 times higher than the state’s usual annual average of 40 to 50 cases. Ohio has reported 364 cases, while New York has recorded approximately 394 cases since May 1. Illinois has reported 141 cases, North Carolina 205, Colorado 90, Indiana 72, and Texas 48, including five hospitalizations.
