The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Monday, July 13, invited applications for the post of the first chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. The decision comes in the wake of the alleged embezzlement of temple donations that prompted the trust to introduce the post.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has set July 18 as the deadline for submission of names. In a post on X, the trust said applications would be accepted till 4 pm on the last date.

The decision regarding the process and eligibility criteria was decided during the committee’s first meeting, Times Now reported on Saturday. The Trust had announced the formation of a three-member committee to identify a chief executive officer (CEO) for the temple trust. The panel comprises retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and trustee Suresh Haware.

According to the Ram Temple Trust;

  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • The applicant should be aged between 50 and 70 years.
  • The applicant must have at least 20 years’ managerial experience in a large public organisation, institution, government department or company.
  • The candidate should have experience in overseeing areas such as administration, finance, accounts, human resources, public relations, information technology, security and legal affairs.
  • The CEO will be appointed on a three-year contractual term, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
  • The posting of the CEO will be in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The salary and other service benefits will be decided through mutual discussion.
  • The Trust also said that the applicant should be a practicing Hindu and a devotee of Lord Ram.
  • It said that candidates should mandatorily have a working knowledge of both Hindi and English.

“Preference will be given to candidates who have served as Chief Administrative Officer or have experience in managing a temple or Hindu religious institution. Retired officers meeting the eligibility criteria may also apply,” the Trust said in a post on X.

The notification further stated that the applicants must be “actively practising Hindus”, while “being a devotee of Lord Ram belonging to the Vaishnava tradition will be considered desirable”.

Ram Mandir Donation Case: Judicial Custody of 8 Accused Extended Till July 27

A special anti-corruption court in Faizabad has extended the judicial custody of eight accused in the alleged Ram temple donation theft case by 14 days after the previous term ended on Monday. The eight accused named in the SIT report, which formed the basis for their arrest, include Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava and Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu.

The accused were produced before the court of Additional District Judge Pratibha Narayan through video conferencing, and sent to judicial custody till July 27.

The prosecution had on Friday sought police remand of two accused — Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastav. The court will decide on the matter Tuesday (July 14).
