US Senator Mitch McConnell has said he was hospitalised after a fall that left him briefly unconscious, adding that doctors ruled out a stroke, heart attack and other serious conditions. In a statement released by his office on Sunday, the Kentucky Republican said he had not suffered any broken bones or a concussion. The statement also included a photograph of the senator smiling alongside his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
