BCCI has officially named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy’s replacements for the upcoming ODI series against England and T20I assignment in Zimbabwe respectively. Rana, who recently returned to the Men in Blue set up after missing out on T20 World Cup 2026 and IPL 2026 due to an injury, found himself on the sidelines again after suffering an injury in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England.
Even star spinner Chakaravarthy reported discomfort in his left hamstring during the same match. Both of them have been ruled out of India’s upcoming white-ball assignment and will be reporting to BCCI Centre of Excellence or further evaluation and recovery. Prince Yadav will take Rana’s place in ODI series against England. Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi will fill for Varun in the Zimbabwe series.
BCCI Names Replacements
“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy in India’s ODI and T20I squads, respectively. Rana reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Subsequent scans revealed a Grade 1 hamstring injury. He has been ruled out of the forthcoming ODI series against England and will report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) for further assessment and management,” BCCI wrote in their official statement.
“Chakaravarthy also reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his left hamstring during the third T20I against England. An MRI scan subsequently revealed a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Based on specialist medical advice, he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. He will report to the BCCI COE for further management,” the statement added.
