According to ICEF Monitor, Australia now charges AU$2,500 for a student visa and AU$5,750 for a post-study work visa, making them among the highest visa fees in the world. These charges are non-refundable even if an applicant’s visa is refused. The publication also reports that visa rejection rates remain high for applicants from major source countries, including India, Bangladesh and Nepal, while applications from Chinese students to Australian universities have also declined significantly.
