According to the PTI report, the survey also highlighted that India welcomed students from various countries, including Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Mongolia, Mexico, Belarus and Chile during the academic year. In the academic year 2019-20, the foreign students’ enrolment was recorded at 48,898, which further increased to 58,134 in the academic year 2023-24, securing a 18.9 per cent growth over the duration of five years.
