A shocking incident of alleged harassment of a woman has come to light from Hyderabad’s Alkapur Township area, where a young man was caught on CCTV allegedly lifting a woman’s dress while she was walking on the road carrying her infant child.
The incident took place on May 14 in Alkapur Township under the Narsingi Police Station limits in the Manikonda area. According to local residents, the woman was returning from school with her child in her arms and an umbrella in another hand when the accused allegedly approached her from behind.
CCTV footage from the area reportedly showed the suspect suddenly rushing towards the woman, allegedly lifting her dress in broad daylight and then immediately running away from the spot.
The incident reportedly took place near Pranati Eesha Apartment on Road No. 4 at around 1:44 pm.
The disturbing visuals later surfaced on social media and quickly went viral, triggering outrage and concern among residents over the safety of women and children in the locality.
Residents said the incident has created fear in the area, with many demanding stronger security measures and increased police patrolling.
Locals are also trying to collect footage from nearby private CCTV cameras to get a clearer image of the accused and help identify him. Residents have appealed to police to take immediate action against the suspect. Police are expected to analyse the CCTV footage and begin further investigation into the incident.
