Jana Nayagan was originally planned as a big Pongal release on January 9, 2026. But the film got delayed after it ran into certification trouble with the CBFC. Things got worse when the entire film leaked online on April 9, 2026, and spread quickly through piracy. This leak reportedly caused losses of Rs 300-400 crore, and a major OTT deal worth over Rs 120 crore was also cancelled after Amazon Prime Video pulled out, citing the ongoing CBFC delay.
