The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has vowed a “crushing” response after claiming that a US cruise missile targeted the Aq Tekeh Bridge area in northern Iran.
According to Iran’s Fars news agency, the IRGC’s Golestan branch said the missile targeted the bridge area in Aqqala.
Iranian authorities said no casualties were reported in the attack.
The IRGC’s provincial branch warned that the strike would receive a “crushing” response, adding to a series of Iranian threats following the latest US military operation against targets across the country.
The reported attack is notable because it places a claimed US cruise missile impact in Golestan Province in northern Iran, away from the southern coastal military and maritime infrastructure that formed the main focus of earlier US strikes.
