Condemning the actions of the then-government, Romana detailed the historical context depicted in the movie, “Every Sikh needs to be aware of the history of the period that Punjab went through, of how the Congress regime of that time targeted Sikh youth, targeted Sikh people living in villages. And anybody who was considered a Sikh sympathizer, whether a lady, a woman, a girl, a child, a young boy, they were picked up, and thousands and thousands of such people were picked up and killed in fake encounters, and thrown in the various rivers of Punjab.”
