The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has confirmed that it has finally struck a deal with Indian Super League (ISL) clubs about the league’s future, suggesting that the long-standing uncertainty surrounding Indian football has reached a turning point. AIFF officials revealed during a press conference that the federation will continue to have administrative authority over the league, but the clubs will get the commercial rights. The federation also stressed that talks had taken place in coordination with the Sports Ministry, characterising the accord as an essential step in guaranteeing stability and constructing a more robust domestic league that would eventually raise Indian football’s standing in Asia.
