Donald Trump, in a big relief to Turkey on Tuesday, announced that they are going to take off the sanctions. It’s time to do that, as he responded to a reporter’s question in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Trump is in Turkey’s Ankara to attend the high-stakes NATO summit, the international alliance he has been hitting out on since the Iran war over a lack of support for the United States.
