Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a televised address to the nation on Saturday, slammed the Opposition for blocking the women reservation bill saying they “mercilessly crushed” their dreams despite government’s best efforts. Referring to opposition’s celebration after the Constitution Amendment Bill failed to pass in Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said what happened in Parliament was not just desk thumping, but an attack on the dignity and self respect of women. He added that a woman may forget many things, but she never forgets her insult. The Prime Minister also hit out at Congress, DMK, TMC and other opposition parties for continuously lying over delimitation adding they want to fan the flames of division over delimitation in the country.
