Residents have abandoned their properties as the advancing sea continues to consume everything in its path. The crisis, however, extends beyond Podampeta. Reports indicate that at least 17 low-lying villages across the Palibandha and Ramagada Gram Panchayats now face similar threats of coastal erosion, flooding, and potential displacement.
