Microsoft Layoffs 2026: Tech Giant Plans Another Round Of Job Cuts, Says Report

This time, the job cuts are estimated to be less than 2.5 percent of the company’s workforce. The company had roughly 228,000 full-time employees as of June 2025, which means around 5,700 jobs could be affected in the latest round of layoffs. The layoffs are likely to be announced next week. As per recent trends, Microsoft made workforce adjustments around the start of their fiscal year, on July 1. The move is being seen as the tech giant’s push to control expenses, this at the same time as AI investments are being boosted. Concerns on how AI could disrupt traditional software services have already mounted as per industry experts and Microsoft’s stock declining nearly 17 percent in the past one month on closing levels has also raised an alarm.
