Topping nearly every list of the world’s priciest eyewear, the Chopard De Rigo Vision sunglasses are the result of a collaboration between Swiss luxury jeweller Chopard and eyewear specialist De Rigo Vision. The frame is crafted from 60 grams of 24-karat gold and set with 51 brilliant-cut diamonds, arranged so tightly together that they create a dazzling refraction of light. A Chopard “C” rendered in enamel, fired at high temperatures multiple times, sits on the side. Depending on the specific piece and where it’s sold, these glasses have been valued anywhere between Rs 3 Crore and Rs 6.6 Crore – with one pair reportedly auctioned in Doha for the higher figure. Celebrities including Elton John, Tom Jones and Gwyneth Paltrow have been spotted wearing them.
