Ex-US National Security Adviser John Bolton Pleads Guilty in Classified Documents Case

The plea deal narrows an 18-count indictment filed in October 2025 that alleged Bolton unlawfully retained and transmitted classified information. Prosecutors said the case centered on diary-like notes and other sensitive records from his time in the White House, some of which were allegedly shared with family members while he was preparing his 2020 memoir, The Room Where It Happened.
