Experts are reporting a growing number of patients, particularly those aged 50 and above, seeking medical attention for unexplained breathlessness, fatigue, palpitations, swelling in the legs, and reduced exercise tolerance. In many cases, these symptoms are linked to damaged heart valves that have gone undiagnosed for months or even years. “In a week, 2-3 patients aged 50-60 are coming with symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, swelling in the legs, palpitations, and reduced stamina. Many people dismiss these symptoms as a normal part of ageing, but they can be linked to heart valve disease,” said Dr. Bipeenchandra Bhamre, Cardiac Surgeon.
