Iran US Israel War Live Updates: Iran's Delegation Has Left Today's Talks, Iranian Media Reports

Iran says the first round of follow-up negotiations with the United States has produced encouraging results on several key issues, including access to frozen Iranian funds, oil exports and maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran pressed its position that the conflict must end across all theatres, including Lebanon, a provision that remains one of the most contentious aspects of the broader agreement.

Baghaei said negotiators also focused on practical economic measures, including authorisations required to facilitate Iranian oil exports and the release of Iranian assets held abroad. According to the Iranian official, the discussions yielded “good progress” on both issues, suggesting that implementation efforts may already be moving beyond the initial ceasefire framework.

The spokesperson further revealed that talks addressed commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy corridors. He said negotiators established a mechanism governing maritime transit, describing the arrangement as an important achievement of the discussions.
