Curaçao's Eloy Room Creates History, Breaks 48-Year-Old World Record

Room’s tally of 15 saves is the most by a goalkeeper in the history of the FIFA World Cup in regulation time of a FIFA World Cup. Overall, only Tim Howard has more saves in a match in the 96-year-old history of the competition, having saved 16 shots (as per FIFA, 15 as per OPTA) on target for the USA in their clash against Belgium in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which went into extra time before the European side.
