Oyarzabal became only the second player in the history of the FIFA World Cup (as per OPTA since 1966) to register three goal contributions within the first 25 minutes of the game. The Real Sociedad striker is the first player in the 21st century to achieve the feat. The only other instance of the same happening was 44 years ago in the 1982 edition, which Spain hosted.
