US President Donald Trump has forcefully defended the newly signed agreement with Iran, dismissing criticism from opponents who argue his administration has not been tough enough on Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump pointed to record highs in financial markets and falling energy prices as evidence that the agreement is already producing positive results.
“These fools, who think I haven’t been tough enough on Iran, when the Stock Market Just Hit A RECORD HIGH, and Oil prices are ‘tumbling’ down, are either jealous, bad people, or stupid,” Trump wrote, before ending the post with his signature slogan: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
The remarks come as oil prices continue to retreat following the reopening of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and growing expectations that tensions in the Gulf will ease under the terms of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding.
