Evans is not a household name outside football officiating circles, but he is one of Australia’s most experienced referees and video assistant referees. He has worked in the A-League Men, officiated in competitions organized by Asian Football Confederation, and was selected by FIFA as one of 30 VAR specialists for the 2026 World Cup.
