JoSAA round 1 seat allotment 2026 result has been prepared based on candidates’ JEE Main or JEE Advanced ranks, category, preferences filled during choice locking, and seat availability.
Candidates who have been allotted seats must ‘freeze, float or slide’ their seats, pay the acceptance fee, upload the required documents, and download the provisional allotment letter.
What is Freeze, Float and Slide?
For the uninitiated, here is what all three mean:
Freeze: If you’re satisfied with the allotted seat and do not wish to participate in the upcoming rounds, go for the freeze option.
Float: If you wish to keep the allotted seat, but also want to keep doors open for a higher-preference programme in any institute that you ranked above your current allotment, choose float.
Slide: Tap on this option if you wish to retain the current allotment but are also seeking out a better programme within the same institute.

- Visit the official website: josaa.nic.in.
- On the homepage, look for the counselling round 1 result link available and click on it.
- Enter the application number and password.
- Click on the Submit button.
- The JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment 2026 will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and save it for future reference.
