Akshay Kumar has applauded sprinter Gurindervir Singh after the Punjab athlete created history by becoming India’s fastest man in the 100m event. Competing at the 29th National Senior Athletics Federation Competition 2026 in Ranchi, Gurindervir clocked a remarkable 10.09 seconds, becoming the first Indian to complete the men’s 100m race in under 10.1 seconds. His record-breaking performance has won praise from across the country, including from sporting icons Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh as well. Akshay Kumar celebrated the achievement, saying the sprinter’s success has shattered long-held views about Indian athletes in sprinting events.
