Why did Vaibhav Raj Gupta quit Gullak 5?
According to the unverified Reddit post, Vaibhav, who became a household name for playing the role of Annu in Gullak, reportedly demanded a hike in his remuneration. It claimed that the actor was paid as much as the show’s budget in the previous season. This time, when Vaibhav asked for a higher fee, the makers couldn’t afford him due to budget constraints. SonyLIV, the OTT platform that streams Gullak, stepped in and took charge of the situation.
How did Anant V Joshi join Gullak season 5
Since Gullak is mounted on a modest budget, it was not possible for TVF and SonyLIV to give him a further salary hike, which would mean cutting down basic expenses and reducing the remuneration of other cast members. Reportedly, a massive fight happened between Vaibhav and the team. Anant, who gained an immense fan following after 12th Fail, was signed for the role of Annu.

Jameel Khan plays the role of patriarch Santosh Mishra, Geeta Kulkarni is the mother, Shanti Mishra, and Harsh Mayar is the youngest of the Mishra family, Aman. Sunita Rajwar plays the Mishra family’s neighbour, Bittu Ki Mummy. The Mishras navigate day-to-day situations, such as career pressures, household expenses, neighbourhood gossip, festivals, and family bonding.
Gullak season 5 is releasing on SonyLIV on June 5. It is created by TVF. The show is directed by Palash Vaswani, Amrit Raj Gupta, and Shreyansh Pandey. The first season of the series premiered in 2019. The second part released in 2021, followed by season 3 in 2022 and season 4 in 2024.
