Price And Rivals
Prices for the updated Tata Tiago are expected to begin at around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tiago EV facelift could start near Rs 8 lakh. In the market, the Tiago will continue competing with hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Celerio and Swift, while the Tiago EV will rival affordable EVs like the Citroen eC3.
Mechanicals
Under the hood, the Tiago is expected to continue with its existing 1.2-litre petrol engine alongside factory-fitted CNG variants. Fuel efficiency numbers are likely to stay close to the outgoing model, with the petrol version delivering around 19 kmpl, while the CNG trims will continue targeting buyers prioritising lower running costs.
The Tiago EV is likely to retain its current battery pack options, although Tata may optimise efficiency and equipment levels. The outgoing model offers a claimed MIDC range of up to 315 km, and the facelifted version is expected to continue appealing to urban buyers searching for an affordable electric hatchback.
Interior
The cabin sees some of the biggest changes in the update. Both models now feature a completely revised dashboard design with a floating touchscreen infotainment unit, an updated centre console and larger digital displays. Higher trims are expected to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen, dual wireless chargers, rear AC vents, USB Type-C charging ports and a 360-degree camera system, features that are still uncommon in this segment. Tata is also introducing paddle shifters on AMT versions of the petrol and CNG Tiago, something that could stand out strongly among rival hatchbacks.
