A publishing relationship can end overnight. A book rarely disappears so neatly. That distinction has become unusually visible with David Walliams. In December 2025, HarperCollins said it would publish no new titles by the bestselling children’s author following allegations of inappropriate behaviour, which Walliams strongly denied. At the time, his existing books remained part of the publisher’s catalogue. Nine months later, that position has changed. HarperCollins has confirmed that it will no longer publish his backlist, with existing print, e-book and audiobook editions reportedly being phased out.
