National Award-winning film Aparajito’s director Anik Dutta passed away on Wednesday, May 27, after reportedly suffering severe injuries from a fall from the terrace of his residence in Kolkata’s Hindustan Park. The celebrated director, best known for films like Bhooter Bhabishyat, Borunbabur Bondhu, Aparajito and Joto Kando Kolkatatei, was rushed to a hospital near Dhakuria in critical condition, where he later breathed his last. Reports suggest that Anik Dutta had been staying alone at his Kolkata home for the past few months, while his daughter lives in Mumbai.
