Three days later, on August 28, Judge Jagdeep Singh handed down the sentence: ten years in each of the two cases, to run consecutively, not concurrently. Twenty years in all, plus a Rs.30 lakh fine, with Rs.14 lakh to go to each of the two women. The judge said the convict had not spared even his own devout followers.
