During examination, officers found the gold chain concealed inside her high-neck sweater. The jewellery weighed 499.540 grams and was found to be 24-carat gold. The gold jewellery, with a total market value of ₹83,14,843, was seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. The woman was subsequently arrested under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act and was later released on bail.
