Police have registered separate FIRs against both the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and villagers following a dispute in Jaipur, officials said on Saturday. Jaipur South DCP Rajarshi Raj Verma said cases were filed based on complaints from both sides, with police now recording statements and investigating the matter. Further action will be taken based on the evidence gathered, he added.
“FIRs have been lodged by both sides–by the CJP as well as the villagers. Two separate cases have been registered based on the information provided by both parties,” he told ANI.
He further said that the police investigation is underway and statements of the concerned individuals are being recorded.
“The investigation has just begun; statements are being recorded. Further action in accordance with the law will be taken based on the evidence that emerges,” DCP Verma added.
What happened in Jaipur?
This comes after tensions escalated sharply in Rajasthan’s education sector, following a violent confrontation in Rampura Kanwarpura, Jaipur district, where a visiting delegation of the CJP was allegedly ambushed.
CJP activist Ashutosh Ranka on Saturday alleged a planned attack by “goons brought from outside,” claiming they were seen with Bagru MLA Kailash Verma hours before the violence and accused the police of remaining absent despite repeated calls.
Speaking to ANI, Ranka said, “The incident that took place yesterday, the assault and violence, goons were brought in from outside. We have already shared photographs of all these individuals on Twitter today. These very people were seen sitting with Kailash Verma, the local MLA, the previous night. The same individuals who engaged in hooliganism in the morning had been sitting with Kailash Verma the night before. It is quite evident that this was a highly coordinated, planned attack; the nature of the stones used suggests they were prepared to kill.”
