Three people were killed and three others were injured after an accidental blast involving a CNG cylinder on a truck near Tikri Kalan Metro Station in Outer Delhi on Wednesday (August 19). The incident took place at around 3:37 PM near Tikri Kalan. According to the initial information, the blast occurred while a truck was involved in CNG refilling activity. The explosion triggered a rescue and emergency response in the area.
Six Injured, Taken To Hospital
According to the Delhi Fire and Rescue Services, a call regarding a CNG cylinder blast was received from the Tikri Kalan area. Fire and rescue teams were immediately rushed to the spot.
The emergency response included two water tenders, one water bowser, two fire brigade tenders and one quick response vehicle. Officers including ADO Rajeev Sinha, STO Rajender and Station Officer Subhash were involved in the response operation.
At around 4 pm, Station Officer Subhash informed officials that a cylinder on a truck had exploded and three people had sustained injuries, while three have been confirmed dead. The injured were removed from the spot and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Probe Underway Into Blast
The exact circumstances that led to the cylinder blast are not yet clear. Officials are expected to examine the truck and the refilling process to determine what caused the explosion.
