indore rs 40 crore road built under smart city project caves in during pipeline testing video goes viral

A road that was reportedly built at a cost of “Rs 40 crore”- under a “Smart City project” in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, came to an “embarrassing” end after it caved in during water pipeline testing. The exact moment- when the road collapsed, and the water started flowing out into the street- was captured in a CCTV camera that was installed nearby. Reportedly, the ‘24-hour water supply’ pipeline was laid quite recently- which was being tested for the first time.

The CCTV footage showed the road cracking up, and water gushing out. Fortunately, no commuter was harmed due to the collapse. The footage, on the other hand, showed commuters stopping their vehicles away from the caved-in road.

The video is also going insanely viral on the internet, leaving netizens furious. Some choose sarcasm to respond to the “infrastructural failure”, while others demanded action and an “investigation”.

Internet’s reactions:

“Give justification: ministers shouldn’t be blamed, only Babus are responsible,” a user said. “All state roads and transport ministers should be held accountable for such things, including Nitin Gadkari for the ever collapsing roads and bridges,” added another. “I hope an investigation will soon be launched against this,” commented the next person in the comment section.

“Its not at all exaggeration when people say this country is land of ‘final destination’ movie scenes” added another. “Nothing in this country- nothing- surprises me anymore. How come such accidents and road collages are becoming so common. Responsible people need to be held accountable as soon as possible,” added another.
