The Jharkhand CID has widened its investigation into the alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC-CGL examinations, arresting the wife of government employee Abhay Kumar Tiwari and her brother.
According to sources, the two have been accused of allegedly securing success in the examinations through illegal means.
Abhay Kumar Tiwari was arrested by the Jharkhand CID on July 22 and is already in jail in connection with the examination-related irregularities. He has been identified by investigators as a key suspect in the alleged organised recruitment racket.
The case pertains to alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The CID is continuing its investigation into the alleged network behind the irregularities and the mechanisms used to facilitate the illegal selection of candidates.
JSSC-CGL Cancelled
Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government cancelled the JSSC-CGL examination and all examinations conducted by TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL).
The decision, announced after a special Cabinet meeting on Monday, prompted student leaders Devendra Nath Mahto, Umme Habiba and Rahul Kranti to end their hunger strikes.
Student leaders have made it clear that they now want the government to follow through on its promises, investigate alleged irregularities and put in place a system that prevents paper leaks and other examination-related problems.
