According to Surat Police, the family had ordered Punjabi food from Sheetal Restaurant on the evening of August 15. Ashok Kalsariya, his wife and their three daughters ate the food together and went to sleep. Early the next morning, Ashok and his nearly 5-year-old daughter developed vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. They initially sought medical treatment. Later, Ashok’s wife and their other two daughters also developed similar symptoms, following which all five family members were admitted to Sad Vichar Hospital.
