India have suffered an injury blow as Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the 2026 Asia Cup and Asian Games due to a hamstring injury. She suffered the injury while playing The Hundred for Southern Brave. The injury ruled her out of the competition and now she is set to stay out of action for few weeks. “Jemimah Rodrigues sustained a right hamstring injury on 3rd August while playing in The Hundred in England. The BCCI Medical Team clinically assessed her at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and the assessment confirmed a high-grade tear,” the BCCI said in its statement.
The BCCI has called up Pratika Rawal, who is uncapped in T20Is. Pratika, a key member of India’s 2025 ODI World Cup-winning campaign, has played one Test and 27 ODIs. Pratika, who has two ODI centuries, has a batting average of 48.56
She missed the semi-final and the final of the World Cup due to an injury. Pratika suffered an injury while playing for India A against England A and was later ruled out of the one-off Test against England.

Pratika’s selection in the national team means that she won’t be able to play for Warwickshire Bears in the One-Day Cup. India will face Thailand in their first Asia Cup game on August 30. They will face Hong Kong and Pakistan in their next two matches on September 3 and 5, respectively. The Asian Games matches are scheduled to be played from September 17 to 22.
India will enter the Asian Games as the gold medalists. They defeated Sri Lanka in the final to clinch the gold medal. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the third-place playoff match to win the bronze medal.
