Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper and IPL cricketer Abhishek Porel has been arrested by the West Bengal police following a written complaint filed at the Mogra Police Station in Hooghly district. A woman alleged that Porel engaged in a sexual relationship with her under the false promise of marriage and later reneged on his commitment. An FIR was subsequently registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act. Police detained Porel from the Dum Dum area and formally arrested him after extensive questioning.
