Abishek Porel, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was arrested in relation to a criminal case that was filed in response to a medical student’s complaint alleging rape, criminal intimidation, and other serious offences. According to Hooghly Rural police SP Kunwar Bhushan Singh, the cricket player was taken into custody by Emami City police under the Dum Dum police station. The woman filed a police complaint earlier in June, claiming that he had engaged in a sexual relationship with her under false promise of marriage and had also assaulted and intimidated her.
